i have a HP pavilion g4-1125dx (windows7) and even though the mouse works fine and the wifi enabling key works, it wont let my type in my password. it doesnt even show up when i type anything. no matter what i type, even the function keys dont seem to be working, although honestly im not sure what how to use them anyway.. it's quite possible that it is infected with a virus, because i have been running it for a few months even though the norton had expired. but if there is a quick fix or if it is not a virus, could someone please let me know what i can do.

Hello,
First off, is it still under warranty? Secondly, connect a remote keyboard via usb and attempt to at first start the laptop normally. Also, you can attempt to start the laptop while also tapping on the f10 key. Okay? This should get you into the bios menu where you can run diagnostics. If these fail to work, please contact HP Support. Hope this helps!
If it were a rattler. . . .
