Re: why my dv6 takes time to respond when i right click on any icon on the desktop?

Hi,

Have you recently installed any software that has added an entry to the right-click context menu?  If you have, try temporarily uninstalling the software, restart the notebook and see if the issue is still apparent.

If the above doesn't apply or fails to help the issue, try the following.

From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.

sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.  Restart the notebook.

Regards,

Hi,

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT HD Audio Driver - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01868333&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_US...

After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook and check the right click issue..

Regards,
