Upon startup I'd get an error message called AccelerometerSt.exe giving me error (0xc000007b).
How do I fix it?

Welcome to the HP Support forum.
AccelerometerSt is a part of HP 3D DriveGuard Software. You get the error because the software is corrupted or because you run an older version not compatible with your Windows.
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link:
>> http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp67001-67500/sp67280.exe
or >> http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_150660_1#tab-history
