Hello, as per the usual case, I have a BIOS password that needs to be reset. I do believe that my 16 year old put one on there so that I cannot see what he has been doing. I wold like to get this reset if possible.

HP Mini 1000

After 3 attempts of password, I get this number {removed for privacy} which I just realized that was the serial number. If I could get some assistance on this, I would be very thankful.

Also, this is my first post on HP forums, so if this is in the wrong place, please let me know.

Forgot to add the steps I have already taken. I have taken out the CMOS battery and left it out for about 24 hours. I have attempted generic passwords. And I have asked my son for the password, but he stands by "I forgot," as his final answer.

Hey Reo51st,

I just bought a hp 2560p elitebook laptop with a big discount from a HP reseller. Now I found out that the bios password was set. When I tried to contact the seller, he said this laptop was part of HP demo program return. The bios password was set up by the user, but not given when it was return to HP. He said I would have to contact HP if I want the password. I though I would  ask if you can help first. Greatly appreciated!
