Hp Pavillion X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was trying to partition 1TB hard drive in the new hp x360 pavillion laptop. I would like my c drive to contain 200 gb however shrinking the volume doesn't allow it beyond 455 GB .

Why would this happen and what should i be doing to get this issue resolved.

Also how many partitions is recommended for a new windows 10 laptop for optimal performance .

Hi,

Have you tried turning off system restore and the Page file before shrinking the existing partition - you usually get this issue with unmovable files.

There probably is a limited to how far Win10 compress but then you need to contact MS about this as this isn't a HP problem. Partitions from factory is mostly likely two one C: and the other 😧 restore partitions. I say One partition is what you need anymore will not make it run faster. If you want faster get SSD but even then making to many partition will make it work harder not faster.

Windows 10 drivers may be available through Windows Update

BTW, Millions of folks have gone back from Win10 to their prior O/S -- something you don't hear about from MS. by WAWood but ALL to TRUE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Those that want HD Gaming should plan to invest in a Gaming Laptop to handle those requirements. Eamples GTA V or Crysis 3.
