Dark screen.

Thank you very much Provost David PK. Your solution to my shutdown problem worked. But there's one more problem that persists. When the display turns off the screen still appears dark. Touching the mouse pad or pressing any key turns display on normally. But when the display has been off with the appearance of the dark screen for a longer time (45mins or more), touching the mouse pad or any key doesn't turn display on again. All I'm able to do is to put machine off by the switch button and putting it on again.
And with the solution you gave for the shutdown it worked. But turning Fast Start-up back on brings back the shutdown problem so I didn't turn that on.with that, I've no shutdown problem.
Any help with this?

Try the following.

Download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp62001-62500/sp62417.exe

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the following.

Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver.

Intel HD Graphics Driver.

When done, restart the notebook again.
