Error 1325 upon trying to uninstall HP ProtectTools Security Manager

I found after doing another search that disabling the DVD drive and then uninstalling the security manager did the trick. Bizarre!

I know this is an old topic but I wanted to add my 2c.

I disabled the DVD rom, but this did not resolve the issue for me. I was able to get past the error only after removing all Drive letters from all other partitions, (e.g. remove the D Letter from HP_Recovery partition in disk Management) so only C drive was showing.

For error 1325:

Go to Device Manager and disable the DVD drive.

Then the uninstaller gets past that stage and will tell you the other programs you need to uninstall.
