Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I first tried to reset the laptop to all factory defaults and settings so it could be used by someone else. It was unable to, so I contacted HP to get a recovery disk. After doing this the computer would crash after booting. I ran a hard disk scan and received the following error codes, Quick scan error code 303, Full scan error code 305.

I need to know what my next steps should be. Do I need to replace the hard drive? Any help or information would be appreciated.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry but yes, you need to replace the hard drive.

You will need a new drive with the same capacity as the existing drive -- for the Recovery Kit to work.

Good Luck

Thank you for your help. Any suggestions on what kind of drive, and where I should purchase? This is new territory for me, I don't usually handle this stuff. Thanks again.
