If you only have a default standard VGA adapter listed then yes, you need to install the graphics driver.
To install the graphics driver, run the AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Update Tool at the link below.
It should find the correct graphics driver for your model.

Thanks guys, this has been a big help.
With that said, I have installed all the driver successfully but the one driver I thought I would have no issue with. The Graphics Driver. For reason I can't explain my PC will not recognise that I have and AMD gpu and is stuck using the windows default driver. I've tried every single thing I can think off but it will not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a bios setting or somthing?
"AMD Radeon HD 8550G graphics with up to 2158MB total graphics memory" on the APU. But it wont seem to recongnize it.

I'm not sure how hot HP will be about linking to Lenevo website, but I was able to finally find a graphics driver that works for me.
