I have an HP DV6 that I had upgraded to 8GB of RAM, and needed to upgrade the HD from 320 to ? I decided upon a 1TB drive. When I first bought the computer several years ago, I created the restore DVD's and kept them. After errors, I booted trying several different methods recommended on this forum noen of them worked.
My specific issue was that I received the error No bootable device -- insert insert boot disk and press any key. Which seems to be closely related to the problem above.
After several hours of trying the above listed solutions, none of them worked, so I was forced to reload the FULL factory image. Almost like HP blocks you from loading just the OS for an install because they make money on the bloatware.
