Recently had a corrupt HDD. I made HP and Windows Recovery/Boot disks directly after purchase. Is is necessary to make a backup of the old HDD system to install the new HDD? A Factory condition OS is fine. If necessary, is a flash USB drive sufficient? Thank you.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

If you have a full set of Recovery Disks you made from your Notebook, then all you have to do for a factory restore is boot from the first disk and follow the directions.

Good Luck
