Installing Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on HP ELiteBook 8470p Fails

Hi,

I have downloaded Ubuntu 14.04.02 image : ubuntu-14.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso but when I make a bootable USB out of it and install it my Laptop screen Goes black after I select "Install Ubuntu" option.

I have no problem in creating and installing Ubuntu  12.04.02 image : ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso image. I am having HP ELiteBook 8470P with Intel Core I5. I am using Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.5.9.exe to create the USB disk on Windows. Any Idea what wrong I am doing or it Ubuntu 14.04 is not supported on HP 8470p.

I also cant find the laptop in the given list :http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/make/HP/?&page=2.

Both the images have been downloaded from the Ubuntu Official site.

Please assit me on this, I am in dire need to install Ubuntu 14.04 on my HP laptop.Ask me for any logs or information if required.

My pc: HP 8470P/ 3720QM/ AMD RadeonHD 7570M + Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

Hi , 

I havent been able to solved this issue yet and is very disappointing on the part that no one from HP or even Ubuntu has came forward to explain this.

On Ubuntu also I have posted this but the solutions are not working for me , Maybe you can give it a try and post your feedback here.

I realy wish if HP or Ubuntu Guys can provide their useful comments on this.

Hi

I've done it already. It's impossible to install the last version (15.04 and 14.04.3 LTS) but you can install  ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS after that update to 14.04.3 LTS

download Ubuntu 12.04.5 here
