HP Pavilion dv6 VJ682EA#ABV

I need help with my laptop, it doesn't show anything but black after the startup. Here's the information about the laptop by the way it was Windows 7 and I just upgraded it to Windows 8.

That's a problem because HP only supplies Win7 drivers for your model DV6, not Win8x.  This means you will be stuck using the generic drivers that MS installed as part of the upgrade and any hardware that is not functioning correctly is going to stay that way -- due to the lack of HP drivers for it.

 

HP is not writing Win8 drivers anymore, so this situation is not likely to improve in the foreseeable future.

 

If you want full functionality, you need to return the DV6 to its original OS version.
