Hi, I've had my HP laptop for a year and two months and for the past week a program (mainly Chrome) will crash leading to other programs to crash as well. I use task manager to close Chrome, load it up again to see it crashes as it loads! I then have to restart my laptop 2 or 3 times for it to work for a while. It's not just Chrome, I was on Football Manager and it crashed, tried to load up Chrome or IE and they crashed! Any help/advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

Hi @DanMc1

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that Google Chrome is crashing and causing other programs to crash as well.

I’d love to help!

I recommend you to uninstall Google Chrome and restart the computer. Once the computer restarts install Google Chrome again and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

  1. On your computer, close all Chrome windows and tabs.
  2. Click the Start menu Start menu and then Settings.
  3. Click System.
  4. On the left, click Apps & features.
  5. Find and click Google Chrome.
  6. Click Uninstall.
  7. Confirm by clicking Uninstall.
  8. To delete your profile information, like bookmarks and history, check "Also delete your browsing data."
  9. Click Uninstall.

To install Chrome for your user account:

  1. Download the installer file.
  2. If prompted, click Run or Save.
  3. If you chose Save, double-click the installer file to start the installation process.

Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.

Hi @The_Fossette,

Thanks for your advice. I have unistalled and reinstalled Chrome. I will give it time to see if this has worked and will confirm tomorrow if it has been successful.

Thanks.
