Hi,

First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53851.exe

Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

Next, go to the sub-heading 'Adjust horizontal and vertical scrolling' on the guide below to configure the ClickPad.

Configuring The ClickPad.

Regards,

Sorry to intrude on a 'dead thread', but I've had the same problem with a HP Pavilion g series laptop, but when I go to control panel I can't follow these steps because I've only got 'Programs' and there is no 'Synaptics entry'. When I go on to Synaptic settings there's no way to uninstall it.

It's driving me insane, what do I do? Thanks.

Hi Sarah,

Try this Thread:

Touchpad: Lost two-finger scroll feature

The fix (shown in the last frame) is to use the Synaptics driver from their web site.  There is a driver for all flavors of Windows and this should fix it up for you if you can use Synaptics for your TouchPad.

I hope this helps!

Good Luck!
