i had this brilliant idea to purchase a used laptop from a yardsale. i got it for a really good price but th battery was dead and there was just no way to plug it in to check to see if it worked before i left. yes, i know brilliant idea number 2. so i get it home plug itin and to my surprise the battery charged and the lights all worked. i turned it on and there is a black screen with a blue box screaming at me to enter administrators password or power on password. i dont have one. lucky me i guess. my question is this, is there a way to reboot this computer from the dos screen and start all over? please say yes and mean it. the computer is actually very nice. ive entered all sorts of passwords, but on try #3 it says system disabled and gives the code 55178808. please help. thanks, k
