Bluetooth not working on Pavilion DV6700 series DV6988CA

I just upgraded by HP DV6988CA (series Dv6700) pavilion laptop to Win7 from Vista Home Premium

I installed the latest version of the Broadcom bluetooth driver

It is discovering my Rocketfish bluetooth keyboard and my Targus bluetooth mouse (separately, but not finding both at the same time). (It's also discovering my neighbors Macbook!)

When I click connect, it just sits there and nothing happens.

Do I need to update any drivers from the HP website?

When I click here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01859348&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=za&product=3756274&lan...

It lists this series as supported

but when I search for any drivers for DV6700 or DV6988CA is doesn't list ANY for Windows 7

When I read the page here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=za&lang=en&product=3756274&docname=c0174...

about known issues, it says:

The HP Bluetooth driver has been updated or improved for Windows 7. and to click:

 HP Drivers and Downloads

When i click this, it takes me to the page to select the operating system, and Win7 is not listed.

Any ideas, or any help would be appreciated. I've been at this for 2 hours already, which seems like a crazy amount of time just to get a mouse and keyboard to work properly. Everything else with the transition to Win7 was painless, and I did a fresh install, not an upgrade. Everything else is working fine

Thanks in advance!

Re: Bluetooth not working on Pavilion DV6700 series DV6988CA

Please uninstall any bluetooth software which you have already installed. Download and install the Software Support for HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology (Microsoft Windows 7)
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp47001-47500/sp47022.exe
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp44501-45000/sp44774.exe

NOTE: Any one of these two SoftPaqs might resolve the issue. Try one after the other.

Hey DinkarSinha,

I understand you are having an issue with drivers to be installed for Bluetooth driver on HP dv 6700.

Updating from Microsoft will pull the right drivers for all hardware.
