Help: I am not a tech savvy person. I "upgraded" to Windows 8.1 and now my broadcom ethernet adapter is constantly disabled and interrupts my internet connection. I went on the broadcom site to update the driver and followed the directions to ID my current driver. Here is what I got: PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&SUBSYS_2ADE103C&REV_01\4&8D52389&0&00E5
I looked for the device ID on the broadcom website which, according to the above, is 1691. But there is no 1691 listed on the Ethernet controller device ID. I am completely frustrated. Short of replacing the squirrel, which I am reliably told is how my computer runs, I don't know what to do.

I posted a question before I saw your response. My problem is that the broadcom ethernet device number in the string you provided is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&SUBSYS_2ADE103C&REV_01\4&8D52389&0&00E5. There is no Broadcom Ethernet Controller device id # 1691. Any further suggestions?
