I got my laptop feb. 2009. Generally, i have no problems with this laptop except that sometimes, the laptop freezes. When i check taskman, it shows that i have 95+% system idle cpu process, in other words, laptop isn't doing anything. Then again, the application that i'm using is in a "Not Responding" mode. The application that freezes is random, sometimes it's yahoo messenger, sometimes it's netbeans, sometimes, firefox, etc...
Now, I'm not sure if this is a problem of the HP Product or Vista 64. I have updated all of the drivers and it is still happening. Can someone please help address the issue, if not, at least tell me why this is happening.

What anti-virus and firewall are you using?
Check you Application logs...
You might find that it is browser related as in a add-on, plug-in or a toolbar.

hi, i doubt that it's in any application log because it's random. like yesterday it was itunes that hung up. today, it was yahoo messenger. and whenever they (random applications) freeze, i check taskman if something is eating up the resources.. what do i see? i see the hung up application doing 0 cpu (doing nothing), and see system idle process doing 99%cpu. it's like telling me, that laptop isn't doing anything.

Can you Write Your p/n number. It's under your computer and looks like this.
Try torun also this things:
1. Clean cache.
2. Defragment your disk.
3. Check with antivirus(nod32 online).
4. Check with antispyware (Spybot - Search and destroy)

And if haven't done that Update your system with Windows Update.

i had the same problem with my hdx 9250ea it freezes every so often even when i did a recovery then i found it was the wrong graphics card driver on the recovery disk from hp so i downloaded the proper driver from hp website it mite not be that on urs but it sounds like it to me check the driver on the hp website then check yours in device manager
