HP does not support their consumer PC's for any other operating system but the current one (windows 8).
Companies wanting operating system flexibility should be purchasing business PC's which normally provide support and drivers going back to XP.
With that being stated, below is the link to a related notebook whose W7 x64 drivers should also work on your model, as it uses the same hardware.

i have just purchased a hp pavilion g6 2230tx in india and would like to know whether it has driver support for windows 7 or not?
if not, which model closest to it has the driver support for win 7 compatible with my laptop?
thanks in advance.

As I stated above, HP only provides support and drivers for the current operating system (Windows 8), on its consumer PC's.
You will be able to use the same drivers I posted above for your model too.

I more thing, the laptop is not recognising the ethernet cable from my ADSL modem and hence is not connecting my laptop to the internet.

If you have installed the wired network driver, and the wired network adapter shows up under the Network Adapters section of the device manager, and reports working, then I don't know what to tell you.
Sorry, but I do not know how to troubleshoot network connections when the drivers are properly installed.
Are there any devices listed in the device manager with little yellow ! marks?
If there are, please post the hardware ID's for them.
If you don't know where to find the hardware ID, please read the info at the link below.
