HP recovery media

[ Edited ]

Am presently using Hp compaq in my office in Nigeria,so because of  the durability  of this laptop,i went to buy my personal compaq laptop last year with the following information:

Product        :smileytongue:resario CQ60

S/N               :[text removed for privacy]

P/N               :NY260EA#ABU

MODEL#     :CQ60-305EA

PRODUCT KEY:{Key removed for privacy}

AMD SEMPRON / NVIDIA

Am always online with the system, but to my surprise the norton antivirus on the new system got corrupted and the system was attacked by online virus which led to the breakdown of the system.Unfortunately,i was not informed by my system engineer that the recovery media is actually in the system in soft form.Soo presently i cant restore my new system to factory default .I went to so call HP Service in Lagos,Nigeria where i was told that they dont attend to software problem of a new system.

I presently need just recovery media to put my system on possibly sent via email so to boost my faith in the product.

Thanks.

Edmund.

Re: HP recovery media

Windows 7, scroll down to "Restore the PC to its original condition using the f11 key if Windows 7 is not accessible"

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01895783&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en

Vista scroll down to "Restore the PC to its original condition with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible"

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00809678&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en

This will wipe all your personal data from the PC, the recovery manager may give you an opportunity to back up your data before continuing with the restore process, read carefully.

Once recovery is complete, do your Windows updates, and then create your recovery discs

Create Vista recovery discs

Create W7 recovery discs

Re: HP recovery media

The present condition of the system:

when i on the system, the following is display

1)Insect your windows installation disc and restart your computer

2)choose your language setting, and then click next.

3)click "Repair"your computer.

if you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

I felt since i cant have access into this computer,i need to have this recovery media via another laptop, burn it,then insert for repair. Please advise on this ,possibly a recovery media that i can download and burn for immediate action.

Or will the initial advice still work?

Re: HP recovery media

Did you try the recovery method described in the links I posted?

If that does not work you will have to order recovery discs.

You can order recovery media here
