I am getting his message every time I turn on my laptop:

How can I sort this out?

Shut Down > Remove Battery and all USB Devices > Unplug Poweer Converter > Hold power button down for 60 sec > Plug Power Converter In > Start Notebook > Install Battery.
This quick fix may work.

I am recieving the same error as the user above recieved. I have performed a hard reset, but the error still occurs. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this error?

Welcome to the Forum, Katie1Rose,
Before you pull your system all apart, you might consider reinstalling just the HP SimplePass software.
If the computer is working OK except for the SimplePass, this is much less trumatic. Smiling.
Daniel Potyrala has written a guide that you can use to reinstall your Egistec HP SimplePass software.
The instructions are noted as having been updated as of September of 2011 so they should be current.
If you have problems beyond the reinstallation of the SimplePass software, then maybe it is time to reinstall your system - I wanted you to have an alternative to try!
