How do I reinstall Genuine Windows 7 Starter on my Mini?

Hi,

 

I've recently bought HP's Mini 110 (dual core, 1GB Ram) and it came with the Genuine Windows 7 starter...


Also when I open up the Mini, there's the Windows 7 Starter's Registeration Key written on a sticker near the RAM's slot.


But my laptop didn't come with the Windows 7 Starter Disc so I'm thinking that how do I Reinstall Genuine Windows 7 Starter on my Mini?

Hi,

 

There are few options this is the normal one: To set your PC/laptop to factory state, restart the PC/laptop. At the HP welcome screen tap the F11 key to launch the recovery process. Follow the instructions provided on the screen.

 

Note: Your machine should have a recovery partition if you are using the original hard drive and haven't erased the recovery partition.

If I start that process by hitting the F11 key and launch the recovery process then will it also delete my stuff/files from the hard-drive during the progression as I have lots of mp3s, movies, documents, etc.?

Yes, it will format the hdd and do a clean install of Windows 7.Back up your files to external USB hdd or Flash disk.

But what if I need to put a new hard drive in? The old hard drive burned out.

Hello,

When i do this "tap F11 key" to launch the recovery process, nothing with the recovery starts. It loads the OS. What should I do, because i have to reinstall it?
