Missing Video driver and Audio driver.

Hey folks,

Today, I changed my Windows. I was using Windows 8, and I was tired, then I put Windows XP.

 After installed, everything worked fine, except: the Video driver and the Audio driver.

The audio driver, I installed one that I found in the topic: General XP Downgrade Guide for HP Laptops.

Worked, until I restarted the Windows. After that, do not work anymore, and even if I install again, say that isn't compatible anymore. I don't know what is goes on.

The video, I'm using a generic, that came with the Windows.

Didn't show up any problems, but in the future I want to play some games, so I'll need the real driver.

The audio ID you posted is for the HDMI portion of the video.

If you are missing the actual audio driver, try the one from the HP Probook 4545s...

Do you have the smbus controller installed?

You need this driver for that...AMD Chipset Driver. First file on the list.

Well, here we go.

Video & Chipset, I could install without problems.
But, the Audio, show me an error as usual.

"The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted."

And then, the Window close.

Did I pass to you the corrects ID's? I'm completely without audio in my notebook. Nothing nothing and nothing. And I'm scared that I had pass the wrong one.

I have some ID's, there is two things called "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio". I'll pass here, just in case.

P.s: I don't know if matters the order, but first, I installed the Chipset Driver, then the Video driver, and when this one finished, the last one, Audio driver.

Yes, unfortunately that model has the IDT and not the Realtek audio which is going to make it very hard if not impossible to get the audio driver to work.

Please post the hardware ID for the IDT audio device.  I will need it to see if the hardware ID is in the driver I posted or if I need to look for some others that may work.

See if this driver installs the msuaa...

Well, well, well. I hope there is.. I really want to stay in Windows XP.
What I don't get, is that sometimes the audio really works!! I watched 2 movies earlier, and do not show any problems. But when I restarted the computer, the audio stopped working.
Anyway, let's see.

I search for any "IDT audio device" on the Device Manager, and I couldn't find it.
I made a restore, and the system is just like when I finished install the Windows XP.

There is the items:

Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus;

Network Controller;

PCI Device;

SM Bus Controller;

Unkown Device (ACPI);

Unknown Device (AMD USB 3.0), and

Video Controller (VGA Compatible).

Is any of those?
If isn't, please guide me to the part where is located the "Idt Audio Device".
Before I forget, I tried the archive that you post to fix the msuaa, and didn't work, neither before the system restore, and neither after, nothing changed.

Hi, Andi:

OK, first install that amd chipset driver and reboot.  That should instal the smbus and usb 3 controllers.

Then install the graphics driver I posted and reboot.  That should install the video and hdmi

Then install the msuaa driver I posted and reboot and then try that IDT audio driver again.

PCI device is the card reader.

Install the first driver on the list at the link below.

Unknown device is probably the 3D driveguard.

Network controller is the wireless card and if you post the hardware ID for that, I will give you the XP driver you need.

So, i tried just like the way you said. But I got the same message when I try to install de IDT audio driver.

Anymore suggestions? I really don't get, really don't.
And I'd hate to get back to Windows 7/8.

In the sound and game controllers category in the device manager, is there an audio device in there that you can find a hardware ID for?

Wireless card worked.
Audio, the same thing.
I tried twice.. The first time, I got blue screen. Then I tried again, and I got the error as usual..
Almost giving up.. 

There is only the AMD High Definition Audio Device, that I can get an ID, that I already have said to you.

Is normal, isn't with the PCI yellow.

There is also:

Audio Codecs; MS_MMACM

Legacy Audio Drivers; MS_MMDRV

Legacy Video Capture Devices; MS_MMVCD

Media control devices; MS_MMMCI

Video codecs; MS_MMVID.

But I think it's normal. No one is with PCI Yellow, all normal.
I'm going to try some IDT Drivers here, hope that something works. If you think something about my problem, please help me to solve.

Yes, I think that the audio is not going to work.

I don't know of anyone that has gotten it work in XP in that model series.

Here are links to various IDT audio drivers for XP.  All I can say is try them all if you have to.
