After one week with a new Elitebook 2530p I can not get the touch pad scroll zone to work.  I upgraded to Windows 7 immediately after first starting the computer.  What do I do?  Thanks.

@gbainscow

With so little info, all we can do is ask the simple things first.

  1. Have you installed latest Synaptics driver posted for your model HERE
  2.  Have you tried adjusting settings in Contol Panel?

Hi Cheryl,

Wow, thanks, it's so nice to have an expert tell me what to do.  I down loaded the driver and the touch pad scroll works.  I have a bunch of small items with Windows 7 and the Elitebook that I want to ask you.  I trust it is OK to start with the next one now.

How do I get the function keys "brightness up" and "brightness down" to work.  I've spent hours changing power settings and I can only change the brightness in the sw.  The function key "dim/bright" toggle works.  I really appreciate your help.  I'm not an IT guy, but a quick learner.

Thanks, Geoff
