Hi,

The update kb3024777 was issued to remove a previous update ( kb3004394 ) which caused issues on certain Windows 7 machines - ironically, one issue was the inability to install further updates.

The first thing I'd suggest is to see if you can manually download and install kb3024777 from the following link.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45305

If the update completes successfully, restart the notebook.

Regards,

David:

Many thanks for the info! I followed your advice. I uninstalled the KB3004394, then installed the KB3024777 as well as some newer udates. So everything appears to be up to date!
