Windows 8 Pro: How do i enable signon via Fingerprint reader on Elitebook 8560P?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I have upgraded my WIndows 7 Pro (HP-installed OS) to Windows 8 Pro (Elitebook 8560P).

Before being able to upgrade to Windows 8 it instructed me to remove HP Protect Tools Security Manager.

Now i can not log in to Windows 8 via the fingerprint.

The Validity Fingerprint Sensor driver version is 2.1.0.3 (from previous Windows 7 Pro) and the driver still shows as working ok in the device list. However the biometric devices section is not visible in my Control Panel.  The 8560P has Fingerprint sensor type VFS471.

How do i enable my fingerprint sensor again as single signon in WIndows 8 Pro?

Thanks!

Hi Houtsma,

Your Elitebook 8560P is a business notebook.  You would be better served, posting your questions on the HP Enterprise Business Community Forums

Good luck!

Thanks, but i don't have  laptop with an Authentec Fingerprint sensor but one with a built in Validity Fingerprint Sensor (VFS471). So i guess i need to wait for Windows 8 drivers to be released for that one as well.

I have almost the same, only the validity sensors (wbf) vfs301.
but works fine with hp simplepass from authentec.
in the driver package you need to watch the driver precisely to its validity sensors.

new validiti driver for the sensor is still here http://www.validityinc.com/news/?p=186
