I have a dv9605ea laptop.
I have upgraded to windows 7 ultimate.
However I have no wireless at all, looking for windows 7 drivers.
From the HP drivers page for this laptop there are only Vista drivers - these do not work
grateful for any help, I don't want to junk my windows 7 and have to return to vista!

Please go to the device manager, click on the network controller needing drivers and post the hardware ID for it.
Use this guide if you do not know where to find that info.

I am starting to think that I have a nvidia defect issue - a common issue is the loss of wireless, being able to see the wireless device and then video and display problems...
many thanks for your prompt help so far!
here is the networking controller props as well

You are correct.
I don't see a network controller device listed which means it has disappeared from sight because the power to the pcie slot has been cut.
The rest of the drivers you need are these:
This will install the coprocessor.
This will install the card reader.
You'll have to get a cheap usb wireless adapter for now unless you plan on getting a new notebook.
