Hi:

Welcome to the HP support forum.

I believe on these new W8 BIOS's, you need to tap the ESC key right at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get a menu of options.

One of the options should be a F10 option to enter the BIOS.

Then you hit the F10 key at that point.

go to charm bar >settings> change pc settings > general > advande start up click restart now >troubleshoot >advance options> uefi settings> after restart you will be shown a screen where option will be given to open the bios by f10...

My Function Keys are not working at all

On my HP Pavilion g6 laptop (originally Windows 7, now running Windows 10) I had to first power off completely, then 'hold down' the [Esc] key, while then pressing the power button.

Tapping the Esc key after power on did not work for me.

You may have to try more than once.

The resulting menu is:

Startup Menu

F1 System Information

F2 System Diagnostics

F9 Boot Device Options

F10 BIOS Setup

F11 System Recovery

F12 Network Boot
