Hi there :-)
I have just installed Win7 on my new Pavilion 17 e049wm, and installed what I think are all of the drivers (following instructions from this link, on account that Win7 seems to be unsupported so far for the e049wm)
This works pretty well, however my device manager still reports an unknown PCI device, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller, and Unknown device. Furthermore, both usb ports on the left of my laptop don't work! :-s Are there any support gurus out there that could lead me in the right direction to fixing this? Any help would be very greatly appreciated, I would be disappointed to be forced into using Windows 8 when it forces users to have microsoft accounts simply to use many 3rd party applications.
THanks and kind regards,

A workaround for this (for me) was installing USB 3 drivers from a similar model, which fixed enough of the issue to get the USB ports running-
Hope this helps future readers!
To the hp team (or other contributors :-) ), my device manager still reports Other devices - PCI Device, SM Bus Controller and Unknown Devices. If anybody knows how to fix this it would be great.

For the SMBus controller, you need to install the AMD Chipset drivers which is the first file on the webpage.
The PCI device needs the first driver on the webpage below...
The unknown device needs this driver...
