hp pavillion g4 notebook

[ Edited ]

My notebook will not turn on and I keep getting the message to go to hp.com/go/tchcenter/startup.  I tried rebooting, nothing happened.  It freezes on the windows 7 icon.  I can not get specs because my battery will not pop out.  I know it is not under warranty, it was purchased in 2011.  Please help, I really need the pictures that are on there, the last pictures of a famiy member who just passed away two weeks ago.

Re: hp pavillion g4 notebook

Hello hphome1,

I see that you are having start up problems with your HP computer. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.

Can you provide the model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.

I would suggest trying to access the recovery manager and safe mode options on the computer. To access recovery manager you can tap the "F11"  key on start up. If you are able to access the recovery manager you can try to do a system restore. This will not affect your files. Here is a link that shows how to do a system restore.

You can also try to access the computer in safe mode. To do this you will need to tap the "F8" key on start up. This should bring up the advanced boot options.

Were you able to access the recovery manager or the safe mode options?

Windows cannot complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing windows, restart computer. This is message I finally got after trying to do safe mode.

Re: hp pavillion g4 notebook

Try and get into the BIOS of the computer by tapping the "F10" key on start up. From there test the hard drive and memory.

Here is a link that shows how to do that.

Re: hp pavillion g4 notebook

Turn the computer on and tap the "ESC" key. This should give you the start up menu. From there you should be able to select computer setup. This will bring up the BIOS.
