system restore without recovery disk

i just did a vista system restore, but i didnt use a recovery disk, has anyone done this. i thought that you needed a set of recover disk to restore system. all i did was hit f10 and followed insructions and and then system was set to factory specs. no recovrer disk to restore.

All HP notebooks come with the recovery software built into the second partition labeled D HP Recovery.  By pressing F11 from the BIOS screen.. you access the recovery manager.

You can also start Recovery from the  the Start Menu, Recovery Manager. Only problem is_when (not if) the hdd fails you will need a Recovery set to install to a new one. Recovery Manager can also do that task
