Hello everybody!
I bought 3 days ago a new HP laptop, model 1202q A1Z50EA with Freedos on it.
I am trying too install Windows 7 on it but it stucks at Windows Expanding Files 0%.
I found out on Microsoft forum that i have to install with a usb stick the driver for AHCI but i can find it nowhere, and even i if i can find it i dont know wich version to use(if there are many to choose from).
Can someone tell me where i can find the driver for my laptop or at least how to switch to AHCI from BIOS???
Right now i dont have any OS installed,i cant install nothing except Linux and i'm not good at it and for the moment i am using an Ubuntu live CD .
Please help me!

You have the Intel Series 6 chipset
Go to the link below, download the correct one, 32bit or 64bit (matches the version of W7 you are installing)
when you download the zip file you will need to extract the contents of the file, once extracted these will be the files you need to copy to the flash drive, when you use "load driver" during install choose the "iaAHCI.inf" file to load, this should be the only one you need to load out of that package. Leave the flash drive connected until W7 install finishes.
You cannot disable ahci on that model.

Did you copy All the files that were in the download onto the usb drive?
I assume I knew which Intel chipset you have, but may be wrong, HP is not good about revealing that information, not sure what to recommend, I will bookmark this thread and do some more digging, post back If I come up with something, post back if you figure out which chipset you have for sure.

Hi:
You need to select the Intel(R) Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller from the list of SATA ACHI drivers on your flash drive.
Use the Up/Down arrow keys to scroll to it, if it is not immediately visible on your screen.

Are you installing 32bit or 64bit W7?
What are all the available selections when loading the driver? List them please

I'm really surprised you have to load any drivers with Windows 7.
I have PC's with the Intel series 6 Chipsets and both Vista and Windows 7 loads fine without having to load any additional drivers.
I have installed these OS's in IDE, RAID and ACHI modes.
I suspect if you are not using an install DVD from Microsoft and you downloaded the software and burned the ISO file to a DVD, you have a bad burn.
If that is the case, burn the image to a DVD using the slowest possible burn speed your DVD burning program will allow.
