Re: Boot Device Not FOund

HP are aware of this problem and should be doing something about it, it is obviously not an isolated incident as my HP TX1010 has suffered the same fate.

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

I have the same problem, but when I unscrew the lid(s), nothing pops out automatically. How do I recognise a harddisk and can I take it safely?

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

I have the HP G61 632NR and have the same 3FO error. I've had my lap top for a year and a half. Seeing how common this is, its really ridiculous and definitely the last time I'll be buying an HP product, and i'll make sure to steer anyone i know away from getting any HP products, unless they do something about this...

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

I agree and I am stuck to do anything about it as I am from the Uk working for a charity in Kenya. The web support is next to useless here and to cap it all, my p7 will not start even when I use my start up disc. If HP read this , I live in hope, what do I do?

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

Too many people have got the same problem. I suspect a windows (it could be also a driver update etc..) update. I have experienced when an update has been installed and after a reboot, the boot device error came up and the hard drive had to be reformatted before using again (worked but started failing). Something goes wrong when the operating system is using the hard drive (writing on the hdd).

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

I'm having the same problem. I did a diagnostic and got a BIOHD3 message. I have an HP Pavilion Slimline desktop. Is there any way to fix this or this a hard drive failure?

Re: Boot Device Not FOund

Hey IT guy. I would like to try your suggestion on removing the hard drive then putting it back in place, however I'm not quite sure what 'part' I should be looking at to remove once I get the back off my laptop. I have a Compaq,

Notebook Model: Presario CQ56 Notebook PC
Product number: XU682UA#ABC

I see the 2 screws that you were mentioning for the HP laptops. So once I get the back off what exactly am I looking at? I too am getting the same error as all of the above!
