Hi,
Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at f8 as you start to access Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select 'Safe Mode with Networking' and hit enter. When windows has fully loaded in this mode, see if you can access the internet with Firefox and Comodo now - if you can, only try a known safe site ( ie microsoft.com or the HP Forum ) as your security software will not be running. To exit Safe Mode, just Restart and Windows will boot normally.
Let me know the outcome and also what security software you have installed - have you recently changed this?
Regards,
DP-K

I did as u instructed and was able to browse the internet in firefox and comodo dragon sucessfully, but when i restarted in normal mode, I cannot browse any longer. I had norton internet security installed before, then that expired, so i install avast antivirus.

Hi,
Download and run the relevant Norton Removal Tool for the product you had installed to ensure it has been completely removed. When this has completed, restart the notebook to see if this has helped.
If the above hasn't helped, from the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. Into the prompt, type the following commands, hitting enter after each command. Include spaces in the commands where shown.
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
When complete, type exit and hit enter, then restart the notebook and check connectivity.
Regards,
