I can't use the driver to play movie's, reload printer software, it;s just dead. HPPavillion dv6000. OS Windows XP SP3.
this is a used computer,but the drivers used to work. I am unaware of any added hardware/ software changes that could be causing malfunction , although I am not the only user.

dv6000 series had many motherboard problems, it was not a good model, some can be repaired and some are not worth the expense.
Its possible the dvd drive had just failed due to age, If it were me I would look for another laptop.
Here is a company that specializes in dv6000 repairs, since there was so many 6000's that had all sorts of problems.
