CD Rom no longer listed in Device Manager.

As I was installing a game my CD Rom stopped working. It's no longer listed in My Computer or Device Manager.

 

Computer: HP Pavilion DV9700

OS: Vista 64bit

Hi,

 

Are you using an internal or external CD drive?

 

Try going back to the most recent Windows restore point when the CD drive was last working correctly.

 

If the above doesn't work then try the Microsoft Fix It Center.

 

Do you see any yellow exclamation points, yellow question marks or red Xs in Device Manager?
