CS: source issue

Hi guys, my first post.
Thanks in advance for any help that comes, well first of all i purchased a brand new HP 9385a PC from **bleep** Smith Power house (bankstown, NSW, Australia)
and well i can play games fine except for Counter strike source in which my computer crashes within 1 minute. The audio and last image will loop over and over and nothing comes out of it, so I am forced to manually reboot.

Any ideas anyone? thankyou

Re: CS: source issue

Verify integrity of game cache
  1. Load Steam
  2. From the My Games tab, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
  3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
  4. Steam will verify the game cache files (GCF's) - this process may take several minutes.
  5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

Re-extract the Game Files

Once you have verified the integrity of your game cache files, you can make sure that your extracted game files are correct by navigating to your Steam user directory: ..\Steam\steamapps\[USER NAME]\ and either renaming or deleting your game folder.

Note: If you are playing a Singleplayer game and wish to keep your saved games, rename the game directory.

The next time you run the game, it will re-extract the files from your game cache files. If you wish to restore your saved games, copy the SAVE folder from your old game directory to your new one.

Hey, thanks for that. But i tried and it still happened.
I'm starting to think it could be a hardware issue, but then again my computer is brand new , with fully updated drivers. HP 9385a.

=[

Re: CS: source issue

Did you delete the folder completely?

I would also make sure you have all the hardware driver updates from hp.com and all of the Windows Updates.  If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the games + Steam and then reinstall everything.  You could also try the http://www.steampowered.com website for further support, I'm sure they've got more steps to try.

I haven't played CS:smileyfrustrated: in years....you've made me want to play it again.  :smileytongue:
