Can't sync with Windows 7

I bought a G60 with Windows 7 a couple months ago and have not been able to sync my Motorola Q (Windows Mobile 5.0 OS). Originally Motorola said they were working on a fix, try again in a couple months. Nothing and Motorola now says all I need do is go to Windows Mobile Device Center to download a new driver. It's the same driver as before but I just downloaded that, still doesn't recognize my phone. Sync Ctr says I have no partnerships available. In Devices & Printers, it recognizes the USB connection as a Motorola Q but that's as far as I can get. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything, short of buying a new phone, I can do?
