Hello,
I have a HP Pavillion dv2000 CTO, purchased Dec2006, with 1.8Ghz AMD Turion, 64 X2, 2Gb RAM.
Currently WinXP.
MS Compatibility Windows7 program appeared to indicate that it should be upgradeable, except
warning that processor was 800Mhz (could run slow), Quick Launch button not compatible.
Curious that it says only 800Mhz when it is a 1.8Ghz AMD.
Has anyone else been successful in upgrading with Windows 7 32-bit?
Should this work?
Thank you.
Mark

Don't bother with the upgrade, you will have issues with Sound/Quick launch buttons.
It shows up as 800Mhz because the CPU was prob running in low-power consumption mode. I have a Dv2000t and I have the same issues, now I have to re-install Windows Vista. uGh!

Thanks, NY.
There appear to be solutions for the sound and quick launch buttons posted on other threads.
Did you try those?

This is my thread, http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.
None of them works. I explained all the issues in detail in my thread.
I've tried installing the drivers in compatibility mode as well for Windows Vista, and that wouldn't work either. ![]()
This is a great working laptop, and windows 7 run's smooth on it, it's a shame they wont release drivers for these laptops.

Quick Launch issue will get resolved as suggested in the previous thread.
Video drivers for Windows 7 can be downloaded from the following weblink:
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/179.48/179.4
Please provide me the product number so that I can try assisting on Sound too...

Vidya

I am sorry...could you please explain the exact issues...
I am a bit confused as to understand whether it is a driver availability problem or something else...
Could you please give me a bit more details than that is there on the other thread...

Vidya

Sorry Mark,
It seems the topic got sidetracked. But as far as your last question, yes I've tried many solutions, they don't fix it. I JUST did the QuickLaunch driver install again, and it still doesn't work. ![]()
