Hi All,
I used to have an Intel Pavilion for which you were able to download the exact Intel Chipset using a clearly identified link on the laptop page.
Now, I bought the 3268 which is AMD based, but there is no link for the Chipset.
I was wondering if the chipset is included in the Graphics Driver or in the Catalyst suite or somewhere else?
How does it work for AMD?
Thanks!

HI,
Please identify your notebook .
. Look at the base of the notebook at the barcoded sticker and post everything you see there except the serial number.
Also post the operating system that is installed.
Best regards,
erico

The Model is: DV6-3268CA.
The Part # is: LG532UA#ABC
The Chipset seems to be: AMD 785 GX
The goal is to install Windows 7 Ultimate from scratch.
This is why I was wondering where could I download the chipset.
On a side note, are we able to download Stardock Fences Pro for HP somewhere?
thanks!

HI,
The drivers and available software for Windows 7 Ultimate (is it 32 or 64-bit?) are here at the support pages for your notebook. Look in the Drivers and Software section.
Best regards,
erico

Erico Seriously, I have been there before and there is no direct link to the Chipset Driver, like in the Intel case.
So that is why I was wondering if the chipset is embedded in another driver.
Here is what you can see with the links provided:
Driver - Audio
Driver - Graphics
Driver - Keyboard/Mouse/Input
Driver - Network
Driver - Storage
BIOS
Recovery Media
Software - Multimedia
Software - Solutions
Utility - Tools
Anybody?
Thanks

It appears that unlike Intel, AMD buries their chipset driver in the software package with their graphics driver.
Did you use CPU-z to determine which chipset is in your notebook? That information is otherwise not easy to find.
You stated that your notebook "seems to be the AMD 785GX" Chipset. Do you know that for certain?

To get AMD 785GX I used PC Wizard, which probably uses CPU-z in the background.
That is what I thought, the chipset is somewhat included in the graphics drivers.
Thanks a lot for your help!
