I have a 3 year old DV6129tx and I've loaded Windows 7 onto it as a complete reinstall, basically the old XP was weighed down with too many faults so I installed Win7 from scratch and d/l the drivers from HP.com
But the bluetooth adaptors don't work and there is absolutely no sound coming from the laptop speakers even though all the buttons work and the volume adjust etc.
Anyone have the same problems and have a fix for this?

Thanks but Ive already tried the update drivers feeature on Win7 and it doesnt work.
also tried the Conexant High Definition Audio Driver 4.8.0.0 and that doesnt work either...... twice first time Win7 recommended other setting (probably the virtual WinXP) and that did not work either.
Please anyone else have any more suggestions.
Regards.

Sorry my last post wasn't a solution but I found the problem and fix on youtube, seems the dv6xxx and dv9xxx series are prone to failure of the ribbon cables that connect the speakers, power switch and QLButtons. Link here.
If your speakers or power button have failed do the pressure point test and it should come back to life - if so the cause is ribbon cable degradation. I.e. it is not software driver issue.
Thanks anyway. FIXED.
