I own an HP G72-B66US notebook. A few days back I burned a DVD-RW, since then the DVD will not play a DVD. It starts, then stops running. I've uninstalled the drive and re-installed the driver several times, yet when i look at device manager the DVD has the yellow triangle over it. I can't use a recovery disk becasue the disc player won't play it. Can anyone help me on this? Thank you. Is there a place that I can download a disk drive?
Thank you,
DRCSaid

can you check on the properties of the DVD drive in the device manager. check what is the error code that it is giving you. thats what i need to know. ![]()
click on start. select computer. and check if the DVD drive is listed there.
and please do inform me.

Hello friend, here is the infor you requested...
I copied and pasted form the device manager itself, it reads:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
I hope that is the info you requested...

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
- If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
- Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro
CautionThere can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
- In the right pane, if you have UpperFilters, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
- Click Yesto confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
- In the right pane, if you have LowerFilters, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
- Click Yesto confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
- Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Here is my problem, Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39), How do I fix this?
