Difference between Windows XP and Windows XP Professional?

I have one laptop with Windows XP Home edition and another one with Window XP Professional. I'm a Mac person so I don't have any experience with Windows, however I need to buy a Windows disk so I can install it on one, or perhaps both of the laptops. What is the difference between the two operating systems and are they inter-changeable? Thank you.

You may be able to get a recovery disk for your nc6000 by contacting HP at the following phone #: 1-800-334-5144.

Inform the customer services rep that you need to order a set of quick restore disks for your nc6000.

You will also need to provide the serial #.

Cost is $10.

Difference between HP Home and Pro is basically some file security and networking. With XP Home, you cannot network PC's on a domain, just a workgroup.

Thanks Paul! I don't even know if this laptop works or not yet as it doesn't have an AC adapter so I'll have to wait until I get one and maybe I'll actually be o.k.
