DigitalPersona Personal and Firefox [ Edited ]

DigitalPersona Personal no longer works with Firefox 4.0. Does anyone know a solution? If not, does DigitalPersona sell any other software that does? Finally, are there any open-source or free alternatives to DigitalPersona?

i could installed add-ons digitalpersonal extension 5.x on firefox 4 . but i have problem : When I go to a site, i cant see the icon shows up and when pull my finger for 1sec showing up and then left showing “”"” when I swipe my finger, fields user/pass empty and nothing happens.

Got this reply from Digitalpersona support:

"Thank you for contacting DigitalPersona. There will be no update releases
for DigitalPersona Personal in the future. There will be no updates for
Firefox 4 nor Internet Explorer 9. IF they work they work, if they do
not work with DPPersonal, then you will have to decide to either keep
DPPersonal and forgo Firefox 4 or IE 9, or vice versa. DigitalPersona
is leaving the consumer market and is focusing on business applications.
In fact, DigitalPersona Personal will not longer be supported after
Mid-April of this year.

Just download HP Simplepass 2011, this works in FF4 and IE9.

However, be warned. None of the old configuration will transfer, so you can't use the backup and restore of your current digitalpersona.

Also, this requires a new fingerprint driver to work else it just keep warning that the device is not found, the current one you are using may not work.

HP Simplepass 2011 is serously gimped compared to HP Simplepass 5.10.175a.
