Re: DigitalPersona, Validity Sensor, Windows 7 and Firefox 4/5

Hi,

You could try the following which should work for IE9 and Firefox 4 - if definetely does not work with Firefox 5.

First of all you will need to uninstall your current version of DigitalPersona.  Be aware that there does not appear to be a way of transferring your registered passwords to this version of SimplePass, so these will need to be re-entered again.

Next, download the following file.

http://www.egistec.com/websitedownload/patch/bioexcess/HPSimPlePass7.0.74.0.zip

This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this so that you can run the installer.  Again, when the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Regards,

Re: DigitalPersona, Validity Sensor, Windows 7 and Firefox 4/5

Hi,

It seems to be a bit 'hit and miss' whether this version of SimplePass detects the validity sensor driver - the only thing I can suggest is to do a reinstall of the sensor driver and see if SimplePass will then detect it.

Re: DigitalPersona, Validity Sensor, Windows 7 and Firefox 4/5

Hi,

On the link below is the 5.1 version of DigitalPersona - There is no way I can check whether this will work with your validity sensor driver or Firefox 4, but at least it's worth trying.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50001-50500/sp50048.exe

Let me know if it's any good.

Re: DigitalPersona, Validity Sensor, Windows 7 and Firefox 4/5

Hi,

I tried Digital Persona 5.1.* but some how it program for dv6,dv7 and other model of HP Pavillion. it doesnt support my DV4.

i really appreciate DavidPK's help.

I am pretty much frustrated with HP. Coz they never try to solve my problem.

I dont know why they dont just make DigitalPersona 5.1 compatible with DV4. it just small coding. what kind of service this is? one their Software Vendor stop supporting old version then HP has responsibility to give their client some other option.

i hope now some HP representative answer my question.

thank you DavidPK for your time and help. I really appreciate your effort.

Re: DigitalPersona, Validity Sensor, Windows 7 and Firefox 4/5

Okay I've sorted this issue out on my Notebook. Windows Login works relabably again with the FingerPrint reader and so does Firefox 4. Please follow this thread I wrote: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-systems-and/Windows-Login-Problem-with-Validity-Fing...

Please make sure you uninstall in control panel, programs and features all listings for Digial Persona, HP SimplePass and Validity Sensor drivers first befroe doing this...

Lastly Firefox 4 works well but we need to wait for Eigis Tec to make new software for Firefox 5 and up.
