Downgrade from Vista (64) to XP (32) on DV5-1253CL

I thought that I had a good approach to this, take a factory installed XP downgrade loaded drive from a computer destined to become a Linux machine and put it into the DV5, and take the large drive from the DV5 to use for the Linux machine.

It worked reasonably well except that I've not been able to find XP drivers for :

1.  Realtek RTL8102E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC

2.  Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919

3.  Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)

If any of this drivers will not work then do this.

Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Devices Manager

Click with right button of Your mouse on each yellow sign and choose properties. Then go to bottom details and paste here device id. This way we will know what it is.

Re: Downgrade from Vista (64) to XP (32) on DV5-1253CL

2.  on Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919  My mistake- I missed the word "on".  This device is listed among the system devices and is reported as working properly, however, a device with a yellow question mark is still giving me this message.  The device details provide the following Device Instance ID - ACPI\ENE0100\4&B310638&1

3.  Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)

The device details provide the following Device Instance ID -

HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_11C1&DEV_1040&SUBSYS_103C137E&REV_1002\4&3480991F&0&0101

I went back to my list of devices and drivers that I made from the Vista system before starting this adventure, and I noticed that the Agere Systems HDA Modem is not in my current list of devices, nor does any software that I can associate to it appear in the Control Panel listing.

I have downloaded and installed two drivers, neither of which provides a solution:

version 2.1.73, 05/22/2007, Windows XP

version 2.1.87, 02/29/2008, Windows Vista  32-bit

Any additional ideas and suggestions are welcomed.  My Windows XP is SP2.

High-Definition Audio (HDA) Modem Installer and Driver

Let's just say that there are a large number of these drivers.  The one that finally worked for me was from Agere, version 2.1.88, 03/21/2008. The download file is  sp41175.exe.   I found it at the following URL:

http://software.techrepublic.com.com/abstract.aspx?docid=662223&promo=100511

ENE CIR Receiver Driver

There is also a large number of these drivers out there.  The one that finally worked for me was from ENE, version 2.5.0.0, 04/29/2008.  The download file is sp40661.exe.  I found it at the following URL:

 http://software.techrepublic.com.com/abstract.aspx?kw=ENE+CIR+Receiver+Driver&docid=662177&promo=100511

Daniel, without your help I would not have found many of the sites that I visited looking for these drivers, thank you for the inspiration!
