Hi guys, I'm glad I found this forum. So tomorrow afternoon, my brand new Presario CQ61-115 gets delivered to my house and I plan to downgrade from VISTA to XP SP2, however when I went to the drivers pages, I found a ton of drivers for VISTA
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os
but none for XP
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os
Going through the forum, I see a lot of people have similar problems (although with different models) and a lot of you have helped them out so can anyone help me find the XP drivers for my laptop?

First informations for You. I think then there wasn't made any guide for this model cause I see for the first time in CQ series IDT sound card. There always was Conexant sound card. I will make guide for You but I will not assure You that it will be working for 100%. So it's You choice if You want to do this or not. If You will do it please give here report about any problems or successful downgrade. It's very important for us.

Please check first this link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate in it on problems that may appear when You will be installing sound card. I know then this is guide for dv5 but many hardware and drivers are the same in all models. If You will use any advice from this guide please let me know about it.
It's recommended also by me to print this guide and informations about problems with sound card.
First make Vista backup. Here You've got all informations how to do it.
You have a folder with drivers & programs that may prove very helpful after XP downgrade. Copy folder C:\Swsetup to DVD Before formatting your hdd.
Now You need to slipstream Your Sata drivers (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.
Here is guide how to do it and here are Sata drivers for You. Just unrar this drivers with winrar.
Be sure also that You are using WinXP SP2 version. If you haven't got SP2 version here you can download this service pack
and here You have got guide how to slipstream this file with Your system again by nLite.
In this program You can even burn Your new XP cd with this driver.
