Downloading gadgets

I'm trying to download a gadget to my computer from internet , for some reason it keep saying windows doesnt know what file to open it with or something and it give me 2 options, look online or find the file myself. neither work.HELP

It is a default option you will get when you will open a file and for that file if the corrospendence software is not installed. Can you please tell me what is the thing you are downloading
