Elitebook 8540p BIOS question
The OS is primarily Win 7 Pro 64-bit version
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
It’s more of a question about a description that is in regards BIOS updates
May I obtain suggestions about the BIOS update
BIOS Description version
HP Notebook System BIOS Update F.20 7 Sep 2011
there is a NOTE
NOTE: After this BIOS update has been installed, prior BIOS versions cannot be
installed.
if i change to the most recent 7 Sep 2011 System BIOS Update F.20
will i still have all the functionality and can i still use win XP pro on a different hard drive as an option ..
does the following
HP Notebook System BIOS Update F.0F 9 Mar 2011 over F.0E 25 Nov 2010 provide a greater number of options..
Please reply
Respectfully

first may i provide an appreciative thanks for the reply
as well as a an additional compliment to HP and the HP.COM/support
SoftPaq NUMBER: sp53375 or File name: sp53375.exe
The HP SoftPaq Download Manager provides a simple, powerful way to download software updates for HP business PC models
Provides the ability to view “ SoftPaq Release “ Notes in a popup display in the list of Available SoftPaqs when using the Update Mode
the above is great quoted info
I strongly recommend
TITLE: HP SoftPaq Download Manager VERSION: 3.4.0.0 REV: A
DESCRIPTION: HP SoftPaq Download Manager provides a simple, powerful way to download software
updates for HP business client PC models that are running a supported operating
system
hope for more Revisions
so may i confirm what you mention is that functionality will not be decrease and BOTH win 7 Pro as well as an older xp pro on an older separate Hard drive will still run well
even after the recommended BIOS BIOS Description Current version Size (MB) Estimated download time Previous version
HP Notebook System BIOS Update F.20 7 Sep 2011
there is a NOTE
that lead me to ask and I’m thankful to be able to ask and get replies
Thanks

When doing a BIOS update, please ensure that there are no back ground programs running. Also, ensure that this process is not interrupted in the middle. It may take some time to complete the update, so have patience.
